Dr. Emeaba Onuma Emeaba

Dr. Emeaba is currently the president of Altrubooks Publishers – a printing, binding, and publishing company. He is also the Publisher and Editor-in-chief of Houston-based The Drum Magazine –African Diaspora’s leading news magazine.

A polyglot par-excellence, Dr. Emeaba speaks Igbo, Efik, French, Yoruba, and Ga (Togo language). An author of six books and a former president of the Nigerian Foundation, he left Texas Southern University in Houston where he was teaching English to start his own publishing business.

He is a syndicated newspaper columnist, critic, writer, lecturer, and an avowed linguist, born in Abiriba, Abia State, Nigeria. He studied at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile-Ife. He holds a Bachelors degree in English Studies with language specialization, a Masters in Applied English Linguistics, and a Doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education.

He is married with children.

Victor Onajidi

Victor Onajidi, a Healthcare Administrator for the last seventeen years, is Associate Director, Business & Strategic Marketing for MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. In this capacity, he manages business and strategic planning, business development support, market & competitive intelligence and analytics.

He was, until recently, Manager, Business & Strategic Marketing, and previously Senior Decision Support Specialist, Financial Services & Reimbursement, Senior Planner, Business & Strategic Planning. He also was a Senior Financial Analyst with the Gulf Coast Division of HCA Hospital Chain, and Senior Analyst, Internal Consulting Group, Prudential Healthcare. Often cited in healthcare publications, he has published and lectured on Marketing financial ROI (Return On Investment). He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Society for Healthcare Strategy & Marketing Development, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Dynamic Systems Society, the World Future Society, American Marketing Association, Association for Strategic Planning, and Texas Economic & Demographic Association, among others.

Victor volunteers for various charitable and non-profit organizations in southeast Texas, helping in areas such as growth and strategy development, board of directors/advisors development, delivering meals, and animal shelter cleaning.

He is married with children.

Dr. Olivier Onyewuenyi

Dr. Oliver Onyewuenyi is currently the President and CEO of MISOL Technology Solutions LLC, and Executive Vice President of MISOL Engineering LLC, both in Houston, Texas. He is Chairman of Union Energy Services Limited and Chairman of MIMET Integrated Services Limited, a joint venture with BG Technical, both in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He is a Licensed Engineer in Texas and the founder of MISOL. Dr. Onyewuenyi’s expertise is in Materials Engineering and Mechanical/Structural Integrity; Oil and Gas Field Development; and the Management, Selection and Deployment of Technology Solutions.

He retired in 2010, from Shell International as the Program Manager, Shell Global Deep Water-Technology/R&D, Houston after more than 28 years in Shell International. Oliver worked in Nigeria on an expatriate assignment from 1999 to 2007, firstly as Head of Field Development Planning (SNEPCO), later as Deepwater Projects Development Manager (SNEPCO) and finally as the Regional Technology Manager, Shell E&P-Africa. He returned to Shell International E&P in Houston in 2007 to finish his Shell career as the Program Manager, Global Deepwater – Technology/R&D.

Dr Onyewuenyi managed the development of the first deepwater fields in Nigeria – Abo, Bonga, Erha Main, Erha North, Bosi and Bolia and capital expenditures of over US$3Billion. He has received 6 Shell Oil Special Recognition Awards, 4 Industry Awards from ASME International and various Management and Peer Commendations. He has over 20-refereed publications in Technical Journals and Reference Books and has served as US Delegate to the 2007 US-China Relations Roundtable, as well as Keynote Speaker and as Chairman in several International Conferences.

Dr. Onyewuenyi has MS/PhD in Structural Mechanics and Environmentally Induced Cracking from Ohio State University as University Fellow and BS Summa Cum Laude in Metallurgical Engineering from University of Missouri, Rolla.

He is married with children and enjoys jogging, golf and soccer.

Ekwere J. Peters, PhD, PE

Dr. Ekwere J. Peters is a Senior Consultant at Afren Resources USA, Inc. where he oversees the company’s educational initiatives. Professor Peters has 40 years of varied petroleum engineering experience in field operations, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, higher education and research. Previously, he was the holder of the Frank W. Jessen Endowed Professorship and the George H. Fancher, Jr. Endowed Professorship in Petroleum Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin where he was a faculty member from 1980 to 2011.
From 1997-2001, he was the Chairman of the Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering (PGE) where he provided administrative and academic leadership to the highly ranked department. As Chairman, he established the Formation Evaluation Research Consortium at UT-Austin with initial funding from Schlumberger, Halliburton and Baker-Hughes. This program has grown to become the best research consortium of its kind at any university in the world. He also established the PGE Annual Excellence Fund to encourage the over 4000 PGE alumni around the world to become more involved with their department.

At Texas, Professor Peters taught courses a wide range of Petroleum Engineering classes. He established a reputation as an excellent teacher early in his academic career and won numerous awards for teaching and professional excellence. These include: the prestigious Texas Excellence Teaching Award (1984); the Petroleum Engineering Teaching Excellence Award in the Cockrell School of Engineering (1987,1992 and 2010); the Petroleum Engineering Faculty Leadership Award (1985, 1988 and 1996); and the Cockrell School Engineering Foundation Faculty Excellence Award (1981, 1989 and 1998). He received the Society of Petroleum Engineers International Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty in 1999 and was named a Distinguished Member of the Society in 2005.
A recognized expert in flow through porous media and petrophysics, Professor Peters has published over 70 papers and reports on various aspects of petroleum engineering based on the results of original research. He holds a BSc, 1st class honors, degree in Engineering from Leicester University, an MS and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas.
